The ash cloud resulted in the closure of Keflavik International Airport in the capital city of Reykjavík. Webcams throughout the city show the approach of the ash cloud and the darkening skies. The cloud is expected to arrive in the UK and Europe by the middle of the week.

Iceland has many active volcanoes and Grímsvötn is one of the most active. The current eruption is considered the most powerful in 100 years.

In 2010 the eruptions closed a majority of airports in Europe.

Reykjavík Webcams Display Grímsvötn Volcano Ash Cloud

Brigham and Women’s Hospital researchers are using basic webcam technology to create a tool that looks at the effects of drugs in real time on heart cells. The findings were published in the journal Lab on a Chip on April 11, 2011.

The report states that the technology provides a simple approach to perform evaluative studies of different drugs effects on cardiac cells. The report goes on to say that monitoring cardiac cells in the past required using expensive equipment that had a limited measurement area.

Heart Studies Use Webcam Technology

He allegedly threatened the two girls with physically violence if they didn’t comply. The girls were told that they would be beaten up at school the following day if they didn’t perform.

The girls were recorded performing various sex acts which were later posted on Facebook.

In Perth Children’s Court the boy expressed remorse about the incident.

The boy is being held in detention while Judge Denis Reynolds decides on sentencing.

Teen May Face Jail Time Over Webcam Threat

In San Antonio, Texas the FBI recently arrested Luis Mijangos for hacking into more than 100 home computers and turning on their webcams.

Mijangos was accused of filming individuals walking naked across the room and emailing them with threats of releasing the videos unless they made more sexual videos.

The FBI stated that Mijangos is part of a large hacking group.

In order to preserve the life of the camera, it is tilted down onto the snow when the sun is in the field of view, which occurs for several weeks around sunset (March) and sunrise (September) when the sun marches in a circle above the horizon. From mid-April until mid-August the moon and the aurora australis provide the only natural lighting.

The new station can be seen to the right in the photo; the old (circa 1973) domed station is to the left. The new station is elevated above the snow to prevent it being buried by the drifting snow (the present fate of the old domed station).
